Hint. It was me.
So I still had a fever, which blew, but somehow I managed to power through that to get to Geology...and then she let us out 15 minutes early.
Hung out with Christina and Emily downtown. I absolutely love Harrisonburg's downtown. It's tiny and adorable with the most kitschy little shops. Christina and I kept getting distracted and going into the places where they've got animals to pet and snuggle.
Cat's Cradle is the cat rescue center, and they let you play with the kitties all you like. Three or four doors down from Cat's Cradle is this little hippie store called The Laughing Dog, and the owner brings her dog to work. He's this massive black shepherd mix with such soft, plush fur and I love just going to that shop to give him a scratch behind the ears or a tummyrub.
Really, whether you want to or not, he's got the "love me?" face down to an art, so he's getting his tummyrub.
Then we hit the fabric store (the actual reason we were out and about).
The fabric store is right next to this cute little cafe-by-day, nightclub-after-dark, so we took our box of earlier-acquired cupcakes from Cocolicious, which is just indescribably amazing. They have the most ridiculous flavours (including a "breakfasttime!" one, which involved a maple cupcake, cinnamon buttercream, and bacon bits. Oh, yes. Delicious.)
So we went into the cafe, The Artful Dodger, and got coffee and lemonade and passed around out box o' cupcake joy.
THEN!
We go back to the house for dinner (yes, we had dessert first.) and made ALPHABET SOUP. Eff being a grownup; I love Alphabet Soup.
Aaaaaaaand we watched Don Bluth's "Troll in Central Park".
And that was how I spent my Friday, on a college campus notorious for drinking problems and trashy girls. Hanging out with cats and dogs, tasty cupcakes, alphabet soup and kids movies.
...gawd, I'm wholesome.
