the best weekend ever...
fri
finished work and we headed down to crown
registered for our poker challenge
we got 2 drinks and a packet of peanuts
the guy who taught us was excellent
we played a few practice rounds and then 2 tournaments
i was nicknamed the iron lady!
didn’t win either tournament but had the best time
we had drinks then the remaining 6 went to dinner at automatic
dropped two of the guys off on my way home
bed
sat
got up late and watched season 2 of AD
got dressed and headed over to anns and mel’s
had dinner at the corner, amazing meal, lentil shepherds pie!
headed to the city for hel’s going away
it was a really nice place on flinders lane
saw a bunch of people
clare and ash came and met us
headed to ding dong
ran into carlson, meathead, jake blood and dion
had a great time
hung out with georgie
stayed til close then headed towards pony, at which point I bailed
bed 5am
sun
up at 10am for breakfast date with marty
picked up meryl and headed to arcadia
fiona came downstairs and sat with us
lovely breakfast
went to Brunswick street for some shopping, didn’t find anything
home, called the boy for our date, he didn’t answer
then got a message saying he was napping
I wrote back saying meet at 6.30pm at fed
then I had a nap til 4pm
got ready, wore black pleated skirt, black singlet, green shrug cardi, green velvet jacket
he was perfectly on time
I couldn’t decide where to go so he did
we ran into jade who he knows!
went for tapas, it was excellent
then to supper club for desert, tea and aperitifs
then to look where they had an underground music fest called electundra
it was actually really good
we sat on the couch talking and watching and listening
we left at about 1.30am and walked out into the lane
he put his hand on my back then turned me around and kissed me
we then walked back to the car holding hands
he drove me home
kissed me good night under the streetlight which went out!
then we said good night
went in and told marty all about it
got to bed and had a message asking if I was free tomorrow
sweet sleep

messaged the delightful boy to see if he wanted to go to the gallery
met at 1.30pm at NGV
went and saw the Durer exhibition
fantastic collection of etchings and prints from 1500s
religious iconography as well as greek/roman mythology
amazingly detailed, beautiful works
lunch at blue train, we both chose the same thing
then we went to nova to see the machinist
we both love american psycho and christian bale!
had to wait an hour for the movie
went to borders and he recommended me a book
dorian by will self
got a cup of tea on lygon street
went back to the cinemas and sat on the couches reading
saw the machinist, it was pretty intense
a little over done in parts, but still fairly good
he dropped me in st Kilda for my dinner date with ella
I was a bit early so I wandered around safeway calling friends
dinner at lentil as anything
cabbed home
tv, bed
this was possibly one of the best weekends ever. I got to play poker at the casino and hang out with workmates who are all awesome. see most of my girls and some of the funniest boys I know. AND go on two dates in two days with the most amazingly intelligent, cultured, charming, good looking fellow around.
