Brr. We have reached the stage of the year where my hands are never warm. I'm going to have to start wearing my fingerless gloves in the office soon - people always laugh at me when I do that.
I am currently obsessed with The Like. They are very pretty and they sing good songs. Plus, band full of girls! Sadly quite a novelty. I want icons but I have only found about 2 icon posts of them and none of them really grabbed me. Lauuuuuura, if I give you some pictures, will you make me icons? *big eyes*
So Chloe and I went to see All American Rejects last Wednesday. (Funny story: we didn't want to queue outside the venue in the cold so we went to the Westfield Centre for a wander beforehand and I got told by a security guard to put my hood down! I obviously look like a shady character when really I was just trying to get as warm as possible.) AAR were awesome - I should really get hold of more than just their first album - and played a 90 minute set! The lead singer had had knee surgery on his knee (his words) the week before and was wasted on painkillers of some sort but still put on a stellar show - the man's got some pipes on him. He was also dressed in nothing but skinny jeans and LOTS of body glitter. Nice. I later discovered that he was apparently 12 hours away from losing his leg so that shows his commitment to sparkle motion. On the way out of the gig Chloe heard someone moaning about having double science in the morning. Oh how well I remember those post gig school days! The support was American Steel, who were OK but nothing special until their last song that I loved. Sample lyrics: Let me be clear I've a mean streak my dear/Everyone that I meet I wanna stab in the ear/Except you 'cause you're like me/We both act miserably/I like you 'cause you're like me/We both act miserably/It must make us happy. Woo, misanthropy!
Thursday I got to put together Ikea flatpacks at Chloe's, which was very exciting. No joke of a lie, I actually love putting together Ikea furniture. I don't know what this says about me, but let's gloss. Sadly I didn't get to help alphabetise her books/CDs/DVDs. :(
Hmm, what else have I been doing?
cool_rain_kiss is valiantly trying to get me to write Cassadee/Elliot fic. I have the general plot chatficced with her, but I can't write to save my life - if it ever does get written it's going to be so badficcy I will be too ashamed to post it! Total word count currently lies at about 750 and
cool_rain_kiss wrote over half of that. Lol never gonna happen.
Spent a fun weekend getting rid of some stuff (well, piling up some stuff in corners to get rid of at some point) and realphabetising our books. Woo, they're all tidy with space for new stuff to go in! Fiction, that is. Haven't got onto the non-fiction as yet but we will. Rediscovered some stuff we'd forgotten we had along the way, which is always nice. Liss made tasty healthy dinner with all the veg out of our Abel & Cole boxes and then we rounded that out with ice cream. Yum.
I want to be a vampire for halloween, simply for the cape. Now I need to get a good swishy cape and some red lipstick. Where can I get a really good cape from, London people? I might break out the knee-high Docs for this costume, and just be slightly gothy with fangs and a cape. That works for a vampire, right? Oooh, cobweb tights...
Also, I'll do that meme that everyone's doing: The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about one another. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.
