"Now to take on the Muggles and that Pussy Jesus."

Good lord I'm bored (ooh, and I'm also a poet who didn't know it) and I don't have any work to do. Also I am not in the right frame of mind for fic reading. Boo. I bought my robot shoes the other day though, so that's keeping me positive! Not that I'll probably get them for ages. Stupid postal strikes.

I am currently in the throes of an obsession with storage boxes, which began when I realised that my CD collection had outgrown its rack and I needed to think of an alternate solution. There are so many boxes for so many different things! I only need boxes for CDs, but I'm trying to figure out uses for many more of them. That's how interesting my life is.

Steam train travelling was awesome (if grubby) and I might attempt to post some pictures at some point. Probably I'll forget though, let's face it.

Ooh, it's Banned Books Week soon (in America, but hey) - coincidentally, I am currently reading a banned book (Beloved): there's a manifesto for the week here that I like. Do we still ban (or attempt to ban) books in the UK? I suppose we must do, people don't change that much, but I never hear about it. I should try to learn more about this - it interests me to see the ridiculous reasons people give, mostly along the lines of "but won't anyone think of the children?!" I don't know, I just don't really get it. I suppose it's my crazy liberal childhood but I can't imagine my parents ever stopping me reading anything. Some books I gave up on because although I was perfectly able to read the words, I wasn't old enough to really get the content and they bored me, but that was about it. But then we were forbidden to watch Neighbours because it was "dross" but were allowed to watch Grange Hill and Byker Grove from the age of about 10 because at least they were about real-life problems of kids. My mother, ladies and gentlemen! (Incidentally, does anyone remember the infamous gay kiss on Byker Grove? I loved Noddy, I remember they built up to it for ages and there was a big old furore and then it was just a tiny peck on the cheek in the back of the cinema! I was so disappointed (lol 13 year old slasher) and yet loads of people still went mental about it. How dare they show a boy kissing another boy on the cheek at 5.20pm?)

Bones was v enjoyable last night, I didn't hate last week's Supernatural as much as I had feared (just one more season, just one more season) and Glee was much better than last week, thank goodness. I still adore Greek (&Beaver;), despite its failiness in some areas. Woo TV!

Edit: The Grauniad has synopses of some banned books. Hilarious as ever, Grauniad. (<-- only slightly sarcastic)

tv, shiny things, banned books, love nest, bookworm
