Went to see snakes on a motherfunking plane, duuuuude this on Wednesday and who'da thunk it: it was actually quite good! Sam Jackson is a *genius*. Liss nearly didn't cope with the snakes leaping about but she bravely stuck it out to the end. The places they were biting were hilarious - proper B-Movie schlock. And snake-cam was an inspired move.
So, we got up bright and early on Saturday morning to get day tickets for Sunday in the Park with George, which we did. Lots of people didn't though. You snooze you lose, suckers! Also got lots of leaflets for plays/shows we want to see. There's too much good stuff on!
Got home and tidied and cleaned ready for hosting our first FOCS meeting (the PF was actually clean for about an hour!), which went well, even if Liss did get slightly over-enthusiastic when making sandwiches. Played the Chalet game again, which worked slightly better this time. Then chucked everyone out so we could get back into town for the theatre. Got the later train than we originally planned, which would have been fine had there not been "issues" meaning the train was 5 minutes late, which meant very fast walking to the theatre (on the one evening this whole year that I decided to wear heels - fule!) We did make it, though, for which I will be eternally greatful, for it was an absolutely fabulous show! I adore Jenna Russell so I was always going to like it, but it blew me away. I'd heard about the animation used but I didn't realise how brilliant it was going to be. I'd urge you all to go see it but it'd be a bit pointless seeing as how that was the last night. The ovation went on for at least five minutes and half the cast were crying, bless them. They'd sold out of programmes, though, which vexed me and my compulsive need to buy the things. I shall eBay for one and hope for the best.
On the way back to Waterloo we decided to stop and have a play on the "sit-and-play orchestra" near the Royal Festival Hall. If any of you are around that way you should go and play too - it's so much fun! Basically there are loads of cube seats with speakers in and pictures of the instruments they play on them, and you sit on them as they play. OK, so it's more fun to do than explain...
Ikea today, which was fairly fun, apart from all the stupid people. And the criminal people, one of whom stole Liss' big blue Ikea bag off our trolley. It was empty, but still, why? They cost 25p, people! Got a new bedspread and lots of jars for sugar and flour and the like, which I'm sure you're all really interested by. Had the obligatory Ikea hotdog as well. Yum.
Final thought: I love Ethan Embury.
