Lalalalala life goes on

5 kids graduated a month ago. Maia Jack Juno Ben Andre all graduated high school. Diana and Ethan last year. Natasha the year before. Sophie is the last! one more year! Sophie is such a little smarty she is skipping advanced tryg and going into calculous and because she loves math so much she is doing it over the summer online on her own. All because she just cant imagine a day without math. If that kid doesn't go into a stem career I will be shocked.  Jack is still talking elementary special ed. Maia is still undeclared and undecided. Something in the realm of humanities.

None of the kids are great abut helping around the house except for Jack. But despite that some have really grown into delightful people. Some have their issues. Well they all have their issues but some I REALLY enjoy and some not as much. Dont get me wrong I love them but its hard to enjoy spendng time with someone who consistently puts you down tells you you're an idiot or for whom whatever  it is you do it is not enough. Case in point, I organized  a grad party and while the kids didn't do much at all to contribute to the work to make it happen A few still saw fit to tell me how I wasn't doing it right. Interestingly enough those few really seem to believe the world revolves around them.

We are getting ready to go on a vacation. Chrysta and I will share the driving and drive to Ohio. The arthrogryposis conference is there. We are taking Sophie Ben Juno and Maia with us. Juno doesn't get along well with anyone so that should be interesting. She usually ends up staying with other friends in their hotel room(this is a yearly event). So I am hoping that might happen but at any rate she spends all her time at conference hanging out with the friends she made the first year. Unfortunately her friends from Ukraine will not be attending this year. Ben looks forward to seeing Maria. They are so similar. They love to just sit quietly together. or  bop around the pool together. They don't need a lot of hubub.  I look forward to seeing Kelly{Maria's mom}, Kielisa, Alexis, Ani, and so many others. It is a fun time to get together with people who understand your struggles. Many of them have adopted kids so they get that side of things.  They are raising kids with AMC so they know that struggle too.  We look forward to it all year. At the culmination of the conference there is a big dance. Its called AMC Prom. This year I planned the whole thing!!! I am super proud of myself. I already volunteered to do it again next year and have ideas rolling around in my head. I volunteered to do a read to kids session. Its supposed to be intereactive but I have no idea what to do there. The teacher in me seems to be sleeping.

I am looking into volunteer positions I can participate in locally. With the kids either off to college or full time working and only sophie in school I will have time to get involved in something. I donate to planned parenthood financially. I would love to go to Uganda with my friends Judy but that's probably pretty far on the back burner because we have the greenhouse up and running again. That requires much of me already and when the kids are gone to college it will require more. I am considering getting involved in hospice. A lady I used to run with works in that department and says they desperately need people. Of course Juno still works at mcdonalds and needs a ride every day. she will probably get her liccence at some point but currently due to a paperwork snafu her permit is cancelled by the state. Maybe Ill work on that novel I started a while back.

My boy Angus is learning very well how to have good doggie manners. Frasier is a little harder to teach because Andre subverts what I do with his own ideas of what is ok. but even Frasier is coming along. They have been a bit unruly and I decided they needed some discipline and structure in their day. They still bark at every thing though! I think its their hobby lol.

Well thats the news from lake woebegone where all the women are strong all the men are good looking and all the children are above average.
