The first 'Dear John' letter I have ever written.

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you so much for accepting me into your acting program. I was extremely impressed with the faculty, student body, and facilities both at my audition and at my campus visit. It was immediately apparent that both students and staff are talented, dedicated, and eager to greet new students. This welcoming, cooperative atmosphere was ultimately what led me to accept Ithaca’s offer of admission. However, I was recently accepted off of a waitlist for the Playwrights’ Horizons Studio at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. After thinking things over, and talking with my family, I’ve decided that the opportunity to study in Manhattan is one that I have to take, and it is with mixed emotions that I must inform you that I will not be attending Ithaca this Fall. This was a very difficult choice to make, and I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences I have caused you.

Please remove my name from the lists for Summer Orientation and Housing registrations.

Kindest Regards,
Katie Lear
