The trials of mint growing continue. The plant has sat outside for a few days now, and we got hit by a major heat wave today. I don't know for sure, but I'm afraid this might have finished it off. I went to give it love, and all the leaves had completely dried and curled up

YES! TAKE YOUR DESTINY THE MINT IN YOUR OWN HANDS! I applaud your steadfastness. Maybe you should read something to it? Isn't it scientific that they do better if people talk to them? So then reading would give you plenty to say and yuo would be doing something constructive at the same time!

I always heard playing music to plants helped them. Beyond the fact that this isn't a lie [or, at least, there are some scientists who believe they have the necessary proof], the rest of my knowledge about that subject comes from cartoons, so I cannot say what the best approach is. Still, if music is good, reading aloud is probably useful too.

Ooh, music, yes! And one figures if they can detect sound vibrations and all, surely they will eventually come to appreciate a good tale over even the dulcet strains of Mozart. IT'S LOGICAL I TELL YOU. Now I want to conduct an experiment and see if reading works as well as music, and also if what you read/play matters - like, is a plant raised on Britney Spears or See Spot Run going to be as healthy as a plant raised on Beethoven or Tolstoy? THESE QUESTIONS MUST BE ANSWERED.
