*smites uterus* TMI, but whatever...I got Stupid Bob while I was at work today. >.< Of all times, right? How inconvenient. It's being a real bitch this month, I'm having cramps like whoa. Ugh, I just wanna curl up in a ball and pout about being female and having to suffer every month.
I knew it was about to show up, though...I was at work today, on the phone with Medicare. I was all frustrated when I hung up and I cried, *LOL*! Only when Stupid Bob is near do I get THAT emotional. Ugh.
So, I had jury duty this week...and got called in on Tuesday. My first time with jury duty, so I was kinda nervous. 44 people in my little group, and of course, I ended up getting picked for the jury. Gah, I paid too much attention during the jury selection process. Curse my attentiveness!
Anywhoo, long story short, it was a civil case. The Missouri Dept. of Transportation (MoDOT) took 5 acres of these two guys' land (they're brothers) to build a highway down in Jefferson City...the case got a change of venue and ended up in Columbia. So, the dispute was over how much the guys would be compensated for it. MoDOT's appraiser thought they should get $66,500 for it and the appraiser the guys' lawyer hired said they should get $133,500 for it, because some of their land could've been zoned commercial prior to MoDOT coming in and fucking it up. MoDOT said "no, it couldn't have been commercial before", thus trying to justify giving the lesser amount. Anywhoo, we ended up siding with the two guys.
It was an interesting experience, definitely. And wouldn't you know it, I ended up on the jury with a girl that I went to junior high with who was a total bitch back then. I didn't tell her I knew her, she didn't remember me. Nobody ever does. That's how it always is...I remember people, they don't remember me.
So yeah, it was all right...boring at parts, interesting at parts. I get paid $21 for serving on a jury, plus I get paid for mileage. And...I get paid for being at work even though I wasn't there! Sweet deal. :-D I was at the courthouse from about 8 am-6 pm. Gah, I was tired after it, just for having to pay attention for ten hours *LOL*
Switching gears...there's a Smackdown house show in St. Louis in November, I'm currently trying to convince my dad to drive us there. We could take my car, use my gas that I pay for, I'd buy the tickets...I just don't want to drive there. *LOL* But...St. Louis...Randy...yes, please. I have yet to go to a show in St. Louis that Randy was there for. I'd probably jinx him if I got tickets for this one.
