My e-mail to Planned Parenthood:
"My name is Katie James and I am a junior at the University of Southern
Mississippi. For a part of one of my Political Science classes, we are analyzing
current political movements. I realize Planned Parenthood is more of an
organization than a movement, but I feel as though it has great political ambitions and
motivations. I was wondering if there is anyone that I can interview through
e-mail on the national level of the organization for a part of this project.
We have a Planned Parenthood office here in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and I was
also planning on contacting them.
Thank you for your time,
Katie James"

Their response back....a freaking week later

"Thanks for visiting Planned Parenthood online. I’m sorry for the delay in response, which is due to the large number of emails we receive every day.

Unfortunately, we do not have sufficient staff to assist with all research projects. You may find some valuable information about our organization on our web site at:
http://www.plannedparenthood.org/about

Also, you may want to try your local affiliate to see if they have any staff that can assist you. You can be connected to them by calling toll-free 1-800-230-PLAN.

Again, thanks for visiting Planned Parenthood online. You may also be interested in our website just for teens: http://www.teenwire.com

That is so freaking bogus. I'm not doing a research project...I just needed to interview someone THROUGH E-MAIL, to get a few answers. And did I not just tell her...I'm going to talk to my local affiliate, which, fyi, I already did!?!?!?!?!?! I just needed to know what they are doing nationally, and they don't have five minutes to answer an e-mail, which they could answer at any time it works for them? That's the beauty of e-mail....you can answer it whenever you have five minutes. And don't freaking tell me that PP doesn't have five f'ing minutes to answer an e-mail.

Crapheads. Now I know why I am pro-life. Just kidding. I knew way before then. And don't think that me being pro-life biases me in any way to do this project, either, which fyi is NOT a research project.

To other news....Jay made me breakfast in bed this morning for Valentine's and 1.5 year anniversary. I got him one of those two and a half feet cards, and filled one side of it up completely in writing and the other side up in things we had done this past year and a half....it was really cute. He sat and read the whole thing.

Subway is going well....at least I think so anyways....other than Butch giving a lady $30 and taking it out on us later...whatever.

School is going quite well....it is so much easier than last semester, which is so great. This summer, I am going to take World Lit., Sociology 101, and Speech 111, and then I should be almost done with my core requirements for here. There are so many more core classes that you have to take at Southern. Some aren't hard, it just sucks because you don't want to take them. Now, though, I'm getting so bored with Spanish and Political Science, I love it when I get to go to Anthropology and Religion. I am seriously hoping to be done by next May, which would mean that I spent 3 years in college. It would also mean that I really need to start thinking about graduate schools, where I want to go, and when I want to do it....sheesh. Too soon, too soon.

I need to go read an article and write a little response paper to it. No biggie. Dwayne finally fixed my computer. It only took him three weeks. He was really driving me nuts this week....All is well now.
