who wants to hear about my work! i started yesterday, and so far i have 1) used data taken at the intersection of highway 40 and mason rd. and processed in a traffic modeling program called synchro to excel up some cost estimates for how much modot has cumulatively saved travelers passing that intersection in gas money in a year and some estimates for how much less the air will have been polluted since their changing the signals at the intersection, 2) gone to a meeting in a park with a baseball field made of rubber for disabled kids, 3) graphed traffic flow data through various intersections in west county over both weekdays and weekends, and 4) traveled to various intersections throughout west county to map the phases of traffic signals by looking in those big metal boxes you see at every signalled intersection. tomorrow i get my laptop, which i think just means i do the same thing but not on someone else's computer with all their stuff on it.
