Note to Self

Getting a 25 minute edited movie into the right format to put on a fancy DVD always takes longer than you think it will. And yes, the fact that you set aside an entire day to do this was a good thing--because it took the entire day.

1 hour - export to a format that doesn't work.
.5 hours - research on what will work.
1.5 hours - export to a universal format that should work.
.5 hours - discover the universal format works in the DVD authoring program, but only in a slightly different form.
.5 hours - decide the best way to convert to a format that will work.
1 hour - convert to the new format, while building the fancy DVD with lots of pretty pictures and cool DVD features.
.5 hours - finish building the DVD, with chapters.
1 hour - burn 8 DVDs.

Total: 6.5 hours

But it is done. My sis-in-law's wedding video is officially, forever, done. And it is beautiful. Semi-documentary style, with great music, and interviews from family and friends.

By the way, videographers that charge $1500 are officially justified. If I was charging for this video, that is the price I would name. It's officially the nicest wedding present I have ever given someone.
