Thanks! I'm totally in love with my afghan. I just wrapped it around me and declared to my husband that I am the afghan queen.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. The story makes it really special for me--I feel like I'm continuing some sort of family legacy.

I bet looking at it gives you the best feeling of accomplishment. That is impressive, and beautiful, too.

It really does give me great feelings. It makes me think, wow, if I can do this, then perhaps I can accomplish my other goals too.

Oh, those are gorgeous (speaking of the beautiful squares) -- and overall, just amazing!! It makes me want to try an afghan from squares like that...I've done it once before, but I used the same yarn for all the different squares. I love how you've used all different colors -- now *you've* inspired me! :D

Thanks. :) I was actually really afraid of what the colors would make it look like when I pulled the squares I'd already done out in November. And the first 3/4 times I arranged it, it really didn't work. But then my husband helped me rearrange it, and the colors started looking pretty good together. But what really pulled it together was the yarn I used to combine the squares--the color is potpourri, so it's a creamish with little specks of other colors in it. All of the squares together look so much better than any square looked separately... I guess the saying's true that the sum is greater than the parts.

I'm really glad you like it. And thanks for unintentionally inspiring me to finish in the first place. :)
