There is nothing more elegant than a sunset and taking the time to sit and watch it even long after its gone. It's completely spiritual...
Another spiritual experience -- canoeing. Anyone wishing to appreciate some of the elements to their fullest - canoeing is it. The wind and water soon manage to get your respect and all those strokes you learnt were for naught. Having been blown across a lake once soloing in a canoe and taking forever to come back did it for me. You learn to watch the weather, gage the current, check the wind.
On a large body of water a quiet evening paddle can change in a moment's notice. As this trip did. Did not take pictures as the camera was quickly put into the wet bag. I've lost one camera to canoeing.
But the sights you get to see and the shores you get to explore are worth it. No canoe trip is ever the same. And that's the challenge.
Have always preferred flatwater caneoing but the thrill of fast water is enticing too. Bouncing on a few waves, getting that J stroke working swiftly or cross-bow draw can be quite exhilarating.
In the path of the sunset feels so nice on the water.
Just when you think its over after the sun sets.... about 20 minutes later the sky makes you forget the blue.
