This morning on the news here in Maine, they announced that the 2009 Farmer's Almanac was released. The prediction for a cold, stormy winter started to upset me. I began to worry how we would make it through with high fuel prices, college bills and not a lot of work available. I quickly remembered that this was only a prediction and With God All Things Are Possible. Prayer can change things. God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask, think, or even dream. God will supply all our needs, according to His riches in Christ Jesus. God is our Shepherd and we shall not lack, we shall never be in need.
Whenever I hear of prophetic messages declaring disaster, I remember that God is in control. His mercy and goodness and His favor follow us wherever we go. Jesus will one day come back for a glorious church not a broken church. God will never give us more than we can bear but always give us direction and an escape route to safety and prosperity. If we can remember to give what is in our hand to God, he will take whatever resources we have and multiply them. He will multiply them not only to bless us but to bless others. God forgives all of our iniquities, our weaknesses are perfected in His Strength.
This is a time to pray. This is a time to trust God and make God our only source. He will show us the way. His angels surround us and walk with us in every step. God is love. God loves us. He gives us hind's feet to climb to the highest peaks. He equips us with everything we need for this day. His daily bread feeds our families and comforts our souls. We are never alone. We are loved. We are protected. We are in the palm of God's hands and under the shelter of His wings. Let us not be afraid or troubled. Let us rest in the peace and comfort of God's perfect love.
