Monster Mash

When we went on the local street art monster trail a few weeks ago I wondered why the local businesses that financed it hadn't done it for Halloween. Now I think someone might have checked the long-range weather forecast and realised that this particular sort of street art wouldn't work on a day beginning with torrential rain and high winds! It is sunny now and much pleasanter but the wind is still strong so I don't think these monsters would have lasted.

More monsters behind the cut.

This particular monster is menacing Electric House, which is a Grade 2 listed building that up until recently had been empty for a very long time but, in what I can only describe as unusual imagination for this area, has been turned into an outpost of London South Bank University.

These look quite friendly monsters in residence on the college.

This one on the theatre doesn't look so benign.

How I wish this monster would destroy the ghastly block of flats behind it. The white building behind the hideousness is either the threepenny bit building or the 50p building depending on how old you are. It is officially No 1, Croydon.

Archbishop Whitgift seems amazingly unconcerned by the monster threatening the Town Hall. I expect he thinks his good friend Elizabeth I would be more than a match for any monster.

Once again I wish the monster would have a go at that modern excrescence being built behind the Clock Tower rather than the old Town Hall.

I think this one didn't realise the coffee shop was shut. That doll looks as if she could take out the monster easily.

This one took us ages to find as it wasn't where I was expecting it to be.

I don't know why we couldn't see it as it's not exactly well camouflaged!

After that little excursion back to the meme.

30. Do you always check the prices of things when you buy groceries?
Usually but I'm not obsessed with prices. I tend to believe that you get what you pay for so I don't necessarily seek out the cheapest thing.

31. How many nights per week do you cook dinner at home vs. going out to eat?
I cook 4 nights a week and J cooks at the weekend. These days if we go out to eat it's usually for lunch. I'm not too keen on going out in the evening at the moment for obvious reasons.
