Carter leans down to grab Rusty before the kitten has a chance to get out the door. Carrying the small ball of fur inside, he gently kicks the door closed. He can hear Kathy singing, and moves slowly tot he doorway, hoping not to interrupt her.

Her voice is soothing, and a erfect companion to the music coming from the radio.

When the song finishes, she freezes, looking to the closed door warily. She then reaches out, turns the doorknob, and pulls the door open, stepping back to find none other than Carter. She gasps in surprise, then laughs a little, before promptly flushing red.

"I should be thanking you." Carter smiles. "I want you to think about doing something with that talent. If you want lessons, I'll pay for it. ANd don't you dare say you won't hear of it. I've got more money than I need,a nd a gift like that needs to b recognised and used."

A gift?

She continues to beam, the colour remaining in her cheeks.

"A vocal coach, I believe that's what they're called. I treated a woman in the ER a couple weeks ago who said that's what she did." He shrugs. "I don't remember much, I was more concerned about her fractured femur, but I could look into it."

"Think about it, let me know what you decide." He gives her a small smile that says he really hopes she pursues this.

She bites her lip in consideration, then looks back up at Carter.

"I decide that I'd like t'be better at singin'."
