(no subject)
Today has been a bit up-and-down. I got up early this morning so I could go out and see the Olympic Torch leaving Aberystwyth (I was at work yesterday so I didn't get to see it arrive). But when we got there it seems we had just missed it go past. So we tried to catch up with it and failed. So basically I missed the ony chance I'll get to see anything related to the Olympics in real life this year.
After that I needed to go up to work (yes, on my day off, again), for a meeting with my NVQ assessor. I was quite pleased that my bus was on time for once, though, as Drew pointed out later, it's more likely that it was the previous bus running really late. My assessor was really pleased with the work I'd done this month, which was great, but then she gave me even more work to do in the next two weeks.
Then I went home and sat out in the sunshine to eat lunch and read for a bit before Drew came home. Then we went food shopping, which is never fun, but at least we didn't spend too much this week.
When we got home we had a barbeque out in the garden, which was really good even though we hadn't long had lunch so we weren't really that hungry. We could have waited til later, but we only get the sun in our garden for a limited amount of time, so we would have had to have had it in the shade, which really isn't the same.
Then later I realised that I'd lost my debit card. I guess I must have left it in the machine when I topped up my phone earlier, but I can't remember. Anyway, I've had it cancelled now.
Now I'm just wasting time while I wait fo my mum to ring.
Oh yes, a funny thing happened the other day: Drew and I were sitting in the living room with the door open to let in some fresh air and a blackbird walked in! It panicked when it saw us and flew up at Drew, which startled him so he shouted out, then it pooed on his head! I was laughing for ages, though he wasn't amused.
