(no subject)
I've had such a good weekend :-) Drew and I met up in Cardiff to go to see a rugby match as a 21st birthday present from his parents. We saw Wales-South Africa, and it was really good actually, even though Wales lost! We were in a box, so we had comfier seats and a free bar. It was all good except that I didn't feel very comfortable staying to talk to the other people in the box after the match :-S But we didn't really feel like we could leave either, and Drew was enjoying the free alcohol!
After that we had dinner at Wagamama, then we got the train to Newport where we were staying. The guesthouse was quite nice, though with the usual horrible flowery furnishings. The lady who owned it was nice and friendly. Then we went out again to meet Drew's grandad. I was quite scared, but it was OK in the end. He seemed to be a funny guy, but I'm not sure I understood all his jokes... Anyway then when we got back to the guesthouse we had a cup of tea watched some TV on Drew's laptop.
In the morning we went back into Cardiff to see the Doctor Who exhibition! It was small, but I thought it was good. The best display was the Daleks, obviously. Then we had lunch in Nando's (even though we were both still full from the full English breakfast and cereal we'd had in the morning). My Mediterranean salad was a bit of a disaster because they'd run out of feta cheese, which is clearly the best bit. But it's always good to eat in Nando's anyway. Then we finished the day off with a bit of shopping. We were knackered by that point though, so didn't go in many shops in the end. I only bought a box of chocolates, and Drew got an ice cream. I did buy a "hog log" earlier though! It's just a bit of slightly shaped stick with a nose and eyes drawn on it, but it's cute :-) The bloke tells me it's called Herman.
So yeah, pretty good weekend :-D I'm now looking forward to the end of this week, when I'm going to visit Debbie in Oxford!
