Let us pretend for just a moment that you're on death row. You're eating your last meal, happily devouring each morsel and enjoying the last moments of your horrible crime filled life, or maybe you're innocent... but I digress. Suddenly you begin to choke and you die. Do you think the prison guards would resuscitate you only to walk you down to the gas chamber after the fact? Or would they call it a day and let you go and in the process be heralded as heroes for saving the state millions of dollars it would have otherwise spent putting you down like the mad dog you were?
