What a lucky girl am I!

All in all, I have to say it was a good day.

First, the lovely and esteemed liralen is sending me a bunch of her spinning stuff, for which I am deeply and profoundly grateful, as well as WICKED excited. Like an eight-year-old girl at a pony party, that's me with all this spinning stuff. It's seriously cool.

Then, the gracious and inestimable browngirl sent me a gift certificate for $20 at Penzey's! I'm checking out their online catalog and, naturally, everything I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT comes to $37.50 at a minimum.

Next, I saw a guy who had either invented a time machine or else walked into one by accident. Well, truly, I'm supposing there. He dropped a black-and-gold Camaro off at the Grease Monkey and then strutted across the street in his black loafers, black slacks, black tight knit shirt, HUGE GOLD CHAIN with HUGE GOLD CRUCIFIX, black wraparound shades, slicked back hair. Have you seen Saturday Night Fever? This guy was walking like John Travolta at the beginning of that movie. I could almost hear "Stayin' Alive" in the background.

Then I fixed a bunch of people's computers -- always gratifying.

THEN chanterelles were on sale, and I planned a menu around them. And now I'm sitting here with the smell of sauteeing chantrelles in the air, drinking a truly nuclear apple martini, thinking how great my life is.
