Grown up . . . well, almost
I have a fun news item. after how many years of using family hand-me-down/heirlooms and such like, I bought new dishes for the house. The first new set of dishes I have ever bought and it was fun!
Fun I tell you!
And I didn't pay anything near what they should have cost if I went into Macys and ordered the set. That is the joy of waiting until the pattern is discontinued to buy them. and filling in what I couldn't get at TJ Maxx from Replacements Ltd.
Anyway, peacock garden. I know, those of you who know me too well will say the dishes shouldn't have birds on them, they should have cats but apparently, Emmaline things that would be unwarranted competition and besides, she has some wonderful (I am taking her word on this) recepies for roast peacock or hen under paw. hmmm. my guess would be if she was ever faced with the daunting prospect of a real peacock or hen she would be just ever so slightly overmatched but she is the cat.
so, dinner party with all the trimmings is on the planning boards. can't wait to debut them on the crew.
