Most of the time it sucks, but when it's good, it's really good.
Most of the time you want to kill yourself before it gets you, but once in a while heaven opens.
Most of the time you wonder how you got talked into this mess and when it will be over and for how long, and once in a great while you remember and you never want it to end.
Most of the time no one cares and you talk to dead people and mannequins and you run in a hamster wheel for years and years but once in a while it's worth it, and you'd jump on that damn wheel all over again with joy in your heart-real joy. Not the kind you smear over your face the rest of the time so no one finds out how miserable you are.
You don't understand it until you do.
It feels like dying until it becomes Living water.
It's heavier than the Cross until Easter morning at sunrise.
C'est la vie du ministère.
