Happy New Year!

Jan 26, 2009 00:34

Welcome 4706, goodbye to 戊子and hello to 己丑.*

This past week has felt like the eve of a new year, hasn't it?

Right now it's the newest of a new moon: there's an annular eclipse of the sun that at this moment of writing is nearing its maximum in Indonesia (annular= ring of fire, rather than being completely covered by the moon).

On the 27th, just after sunset, take a look for the extra-thin crescent of the moon.
