A good friend of mine wrote: Goodness is its own reward. He could help me out with something I really felt strongly about, and I am very very grateful. Saying he doesn't want something for it, that goodness is its own reward - yes, words like these make me believe even more in the good in people. That really we ARE good inside. That we are not all just selfish. That it really DOES feel good to help somebody out.
It has been said that giving is happier than receiving.
And that the easiest way to feel better is to make somebody else feel better.
How true this all is. Doesn't it feel wonderful to be able to help somebody out?
Maybe we should walk through our days much more often thinking, whom could I help out today? Where can I spread some joy? On whose face could I bring a smile today?
It will make them happy, AND us happy. And help other people believe in the good in people.
