There's no place like home for the holidays.
I feel awful.
It's been less than five days since I moved home and already I've made my mother angry. Not intentionally, mind you, but I've forgotten how emotional the women in my immediate family are. My mom and I are generally okay, but tonight I leapt to the conclusion that my mother was going somewhere she wasn't, and responded in kind. However, it didn't go over well. I think she thought I was being disrespectful and got upset and starting banging and slamming things, not letting me apologize or anything. I mean, we Meyer women are suspicious, emotional, sensitive and easily defensive as a general rule, so more than one of us interacting is a tricky situation.
It will be an interesting holiday.
