And by the end of the weekend...

Apr 30, 2010 15:10

I apparently meant before 3 PM today, as I typed "THE END" about 15 minutes ago.

I'm feeling kinda o_O cause I thought restructuring the ending would take me longer, but I've finally just made peace with my ending being the way it is. So I moved some things, changed the POV on some things, and... I think I like it. (Also, Great Big Thanks to Amelia from my crit group who suggested this particular new structure.)

And now, for the obligatory statistics. Between Drafts 2 and 3, so far I have:

- A total of 316 manuscript pages.

- 75,857 words of story.

- I removed 2034 words, which, for some reason, equated out to losing only 3 manuscript pages.

Also, there's an average of 1850 words and 7.7 pages per chapter. (Yes, I am a dork. Yes, this is in my spreadsheet.)

I think the rest of this weekend will involve going back and removing a few flashbacks that I inserted with trepidation and have now decided just Do Not Work, along with doing a read-aloud & polish.

Oh, and after my exercise with the first 500 words of Chapter One, I also need to restructure chapters 1-3 a wee bit.

But for now, I think Netflix Instant Watch & cake are calling my name...
