1) I'm using the Hollins icon today because I just dropped off my thesis! You can see it in all it's ginormous glory
here. I also now have my regalia, although apparently the store is out of gowns for my height. And the next interval above mine. So I have a gown for someone 4"-6" taller than me*. You know what that means. Yep, 4" heels at graduation. (Er, or not.)
2) I spent part of my morning writing on my new patio, until the battery on my laptop got low enough for me to get nervous it would just turn off on me. I will post a picture when I can get one of all my stuff out there, too- I had such a cute set-up going this morning! :)
3) I learned a new word today, courtesy of
scbutler! I always love
Tuckerization when I spot it in novels, and now I know the word for it! Though, I have heard of people who don't like it... Opinions?
4) Arion is now 16,155 words shorter than the version I turned in for #1. And I still have 10 chapters worth of revising to do. So close! So very close!
5) Tomorrow is crit group day! This means a giant mocha (4 shots of espresso is standard in a large at this coffee shop!), lots of writerly talk, and figuring out how to make W&F1 better :) Can't wait!
*This is actually a BIG pet peeve of mine, from working in a college bookstore, where people always tried to buy the wrong freaking size. Gowns are sized by height and are not supposed to reach your feet! Ugh... I know how the gowns are supposed to fit and mine is WRONG. Rar. See how I kept that rant tiny? Yay me. :)
