Confident or Delusional?

All right, all my writerly-inclined friends... Are you confident or delusional?

I think, personally, that that is a very broad brush indeed. I think that the only thing more personal than writing is ... well, I'm not going to say it because it's that personal.

Believe it or not, I write too. Granted, it's poetry or lyric, but I do indeed write. And you know what? I don't edit it. 90% of the music I've written is as it came out of my head (well, the words anyway).

I know that literature is not music, but I still think that's a rather broad brush. Something well written is well written. Editing is good, but sometimes you should just step back.

What do I know though; I'm mostly a reader, not a writer.
