trying this
I don't know if I'll find that I spend much time here, but since I've started, may as well give it a try. Maybe moving to the electronic world will inspire me to write as often as I mean to, instead of once in a blue moon. At the very least, it should make it harder to lose the things I do write. Over the years, how many bits of brilliant poetry do you suppose I've sacrificed to washing machines, stray breezes and the black hole under the front seat of my car? Dozens, I bet. Not that I've written much, brilliant or otherwise, lately.
Funny how school saps the urge to create, even though I love school and am going entirely by my own choice and taking only classes that I'm interested in. Give me a deadline, and I can't stand the idea of starting work until the night before. On the other hand, I've got a few snippets from in-class assignments that are dying to be fleshed out. But not yet. I hate to start on a good idea before I'm ready to be devoted to it. My stories have been in my head for years -they can wait a few more days.
For now, I'm dipping my toes into the lj world. After that, I'm putting my headcold to bed and telling my kittens to let me sleep at least till six before they start singing me awake. Tomorrow, we conquer the world!
