I can’t think of anything sweeter than the mutual joy of greeting someone who adores you as you adore them. Ecstatic hugs and all night conversations soothe the tender place in my soul where Layrinski and I had to detach a little for her to take the next step into her unfolding independence. So a weekend in A-Town to visit my fledglings, followed by a half a day looking at photos and getting acquainted with Face Book with Meg here, and a visit from two of Austin’s finest, Solite and Unarmed Dreamer, and a rare visit from my brother in less than a week has been a welcome balm.
Call it the gift of gab. Maybe it’s a Gemini thing. If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? If a Gemini talks and there is no one there to hear her, does she exist? Is this why we create anything at all, a sound, a conversation, a web page, a relationship, a sexual sensation, a piece of art or music, dance or theater, to prove that we exist? To wiggle our existential tongues and fingers and toes in the rapture of being alive?
Having put a wiggly toe over the introversion/extroversion line in the last few years I’m more keenly aware of how much these interactions energize me and as I go thru the natural separation process with my youngest daughter, I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep my heart chakra open, filling my body with the revitalizing elixir of love. Grateful for the way these visitations have been timed to accommodate my need for human connection. Grateful for these exquisitely beautiful and interesting people who make planet earth a smashingly fun place to be.... even grateful for language itself, the tool for transmitting not only love but complex and provocative ideas, humor, affirmation, explanation, comfort and inspiration.
*HUGS* to you all!
