Some of you already know some of this...

But here goes. For my birthday Luke surprised me by giving me random presents at various times of the day...so surprising, and fun! I got a crystal vase, with orange-pink roses, and a head warmer and gloves, and time to myself, and Italian dip (my favorite, like French dip but with different bread) and some things for the house. And Trinity said very cheerfully "Happy Birthday, mom!" a thousand times and every time I loved it.
Oh, and I got a Joanie Mitchell CD and some soy candles, and a bath pillow (for those of you out there not aware, for me bath=bliss).

Had Red Pepper hummus for Christmas dinner and chips-lots of varieties. We opened presents Christmas Eve but waited until after dark so it would seem like Santa Claus had already come. Girlies got presents throughout the week before Christmas, sort of a "Twelve Days of Christmas theme" so the finale wasn't impressive, but it was fun. Luke got in a bad mood about Christmas (he always does, he hates family events but likes them as long as it's not called a holiday) so we got Christmas over with as soon as we could and then just enjoyed being together.

It was weird, not being Christian trying out to figure how we wanted to celebrate this thing we don't believe in (but most people do, here in the South, or at least do a good job pretending). I did lots of work for real estate, and it snowed and iced a lot. Fortunately after four days most of it was gone.

christmas Day we went to the Polar Express-rather, I took Aubra and trinity and Luke waited outside reading in case they misbehaved. But they loved it. I think I loved it most of all.
