Thank God it finally stopped with the rain this afternoon, because my family and I had plans to go to the Arizona State Fair, and the rides apparently have to be shut down if it's raining. Which I could see happening, because I recall one year when we'd gone to the Navajo County Fair (this being when we lived in northern Arizona), and most of the rides weren't running because it had been raining that day.
Anyhow, so today's visit worked out and we had a lot of fun......they had a few baby zebras, a baby camel, and a baby giraffe in the petting zoo, and I ended up getting deer spit (at least, I think that's what they were) all over my left hand because i was feeding them. Tickets were more expensive this year, so we didn't go on too many rides, but I went on one with Helen, and we all ended up winning prizes with various games on the midway. (I was surprised that I had that much skill with throwing darts at balloons....normally I suck at it) I also got to try the deep-friend cookie dough and a deep-fried candy bar...not exactly good for losing weight, but the fair only comes around once a year, and I do love trying out different foods.
