horrid journeys
No. 1: Was due to catch 18:30 train from Bham Sunday night and get in to Newcastle 10pm. Got to station to be told 18:30 didn't exist, yep the rail works (which according to the online schedule finished 2 months ago) are still going on. So I should catch the 19.03 to Doncaster and then the next train to Newcastle and get in at 11.30pm. The 1st train was rammed so stood all the way to Derby - which took an hour cause of the diversion. But then had seat remainder of way and the 2nd train even got in a bot early so was home by 11.45pm.
No. 2: There had been a bridge strike on the Metro - apparently - but there was no info being given out but when the train arrived going the "wrong way" on the other platform and was only going as far as Pelaw anyway I decided to get a taxi. Over 30min wait for taxi in cold. Got in JUST in time to do 2 hour lecture.
I have a meeting with my boss in a mo and after that I'm going home to sleep - I'm knackered
