Yuletide, yay!

I gots presents!

I got two fics this year, fulfilling three of my requests. Yup, an awesome crossover is on your horizon!

At Least We Have Each Other
Fandom: This Means War
"No, no," FDR says, sitting up so fast he almost spills his scotch. "I didn't mean--" He stops short, takes a deep breath, and reconsiders. "You know what, fuck it, I did mean. Why can't we have sex?"

A much better ending for the movie, and porny to boot! I loved that Lauren showed her backbone and told them off before stomping into the sunset to find herself a nice guy.

Forty-Two
Fandoms: Warehouse 13, The Unusuals
In which Eric Delahoy calls an old buddy from the ATF to look into his partner's curse.
"Right, yeah." Delahoy cleared his throat and shrugged his shoulders a little. "My partner here thinks he's cursed. Everyone in his family dies when they're forty-two. And I heard, you know, you'd gotten into the hinky stuff."

I never would have thought of combining these two, but it works so well! And, it has a cameo by Dispatch. You're welcome.

I haven't had much time to do serious reading, but I've been slowly working my way through the archive and there are some standouts for me this year. I'll get through all of it eventually, but I thought, if you were interested, I'd point you in a couple different directions.

Bigger Than You Think
Fandom: xkcd 1110 (Click and Drag)
An interactive story of exploration.

Guys, this is awesome. It's like a puzzle game and a choose your own adventure. Definitely don't have to know canon for this one, though I do recommend you check out #1110 as well!

Wake Up and Find
Fandom: You Belong With Me - University of Rochester Yellowjackets (Music Video)
By the third time that Danny wound up with a window or door directly across from Eli Gronkowski's, he had to wonder if the universe was trying to tell him something.

You definitely don't need to know canon for this one either, though the video is less than five minutes long and adorable, if you want to check it out. I cannot believe this author pulled off a 25k word story for Yuletide!

Mood Indigo
Fandom: Blacksad
You ain't never been blue, child, til you've had that mood indigo.

The sheer fact that someone wrote something Blacksad's world, and got the feel right is awesome. It's a short but contained story.

The Astounding Adventure of Radical Edward
Fandoms: Cowboy Bebop, Trigun
Radical Edward explores a strange desert planet and meets a cactus man.

Nostalgia factor! I loved Ed's POV. Some of it near the end is a little rough but overall I thought it was well done. Can't go wrong with Bebop and Trigun!
