Latest news on Peace

I got an email from Clarissa yesterday to tell me that Peace Comes to the Chalet School is sold out. Hooray! (I get money now. *g*)

In other news, I am preparing several of my stories for examination by the English department of Melbourne Uni in the hope that I can go straight into the doctorate program. If I can't, I will have to enrol for a Masters and then transfer after a year or so. If I must, I must, but I would rather go straight into a PhD.

So what else is happening in my life? I've slacked off at gym and diet for the last couple of weeks and put on weight, so I have to tighten my belt and buckle down to it again. I do want to look good in the photos in July when I hand over the presidentship of Bayside Rotary to Claire.

Oh, yes, my grandmother died on October 23. Please don't feel sorry for me or her, as she was in a wretched state at the end and it was a huge relief for everyone that she's gone. Even better, as far as I'm concerned, I don't have to see my Morrison relatives again, hopefully for a very, very long time. One day I must write a story with them as the villains, just as therapy...

Hmm, my dancing lessons are going really well. Did I mention those before? *goes back over old entries* Nope, I didn't. Okay, so several months ago, my local dance school rang up and asked if I would like three free dance lessons. Not being a complete twit, I said 'yes, please!' and went along, only to find that I really love it! I've gone on, done the short beginners course and am now in the General Variety group.

The dances I'm doing are waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, salsa, cha cha and swing. Waltz and swing are my favourites, and cha cha is so complicated that I may never get my head around it! *lol* It's actually rather strange, as I did ballet once and was terrible at that, but this is really very easy and I love it. I have a private lesson once a week (on a Saturday arvo) and group lessons are available for me to attend every day of the week, although I tend to only go once or twice. Still, it's heaps of fun and can only help the weight loss!!

On other fronts, I am now looking for a part-time job for the time when I am studying again. I applied for about 12 yesterday and will see if any come up with the goods. A couple looked really promising, so I will keep my fingers crossed!

So what's happening in your life?
