Today was Innsbruck Mark II and was hugely satisfying! I did a bit of shopping, for myself and others, on the way to the Stadtsarchive, and once there spent two hours hunting through books for information about Tyrol and Innsbruck in the early decades of the 1920s. I have purchased myself a handheld scanner and so scanned all of the information I found that I thought might be useful. (It's a lot cheaper than photocopying it or somehow buying copies of the books!!)
That done, I walked to the St Nicholas Church (which involved going over a wooden bridge - that was not so much fun as the Inn moves at a decent click and my brain kept presenting me with the image of the bridge breaking and me falling into it) and made that a visit. I went back over the proper Inn Bridge and had lunch near the Golden Roof. More shopping (I have now ticked everyone off my list) and the compulsory visit to the bookshop. Yes, I bought something. (Of course I did.)
I left Innsbruck at a very respectable time and was thus back at my hotel before 6pm. This gave me time to do the other important thing I had to do today.
I have packed and weighed my case.
It's heavy!!
Keeping in mind that I am allowed to have 30kgs, I attached my digital weighing device and held my breath.
I'm not sure if that made any difference or not, but my suitcase is - 28.9kg.
Thank goodness! No need to scurry off to the post-office tomorrow morning. *phew*
So tomorrow is my last full day at the Achensee. Saturday I travel to Innsbruck for my final night before getting on the plane on Sunday morning.
And yes, I am finally - finally! - going to Schloss Tratzberg. At least I hope so...
