And now all he wanted was to plunge it into himself.

Harry. *sobs* This must be exactly how he felt. I never thought of it before reading this fic, but now I realise that must be exactly what he felt.

He had ruthlessly murdered his father, he had mercilessly saved him, he existed.
I love the contrasts between every single example you have here. And in he had mercilessly saved him - that's a lovely one. *grin* I'm certain Harry would have wholeheartedly chosen being hurt by Otto's science experiment over being saved by Spider-man. *smiles*

But ironically, the one to finally break him was Peter.
THIS! The line that broke me! Before even reading your fic! *sobs* I wandered around the house in a daze after reading that line, and I simply couldn't stop thinking about it, even before reading the fic. It is such a simple, powerful concept you have here, and it is its simplicity and its strength which overcomes me. And because it almost seems from the way it is that it's Peter who's going to be the one who's broken, it's perfect when it's Harry who is. I'm not making sense. *cries* When just one line has this much power over me, you can imagine what the rest of the fic does. Because that line broke me, but the rest of the fic destroyed me.

For Peter had always been the only one who could hurt him this badly, this painfully.
*hugs Harry tight* *hugs you tight* I always wanted to see this. Because it always seems everywhere that Peter's the one being hurt, I wanted to see that Peter, too, had the power to hurt Harry. I always thought that Peter and Harry had a relationship closer to that of equals, as compared to the whole Peter/MJ relationship.

And all Harry ever wanted was for Peter to want him too.
THIS. THIS LINE. I want to italicise and bold and underline it everywhere, because when I read it I lose all the faculties I need to express the way I feel about it. It must destroy Harry, too - wanting Peter this badly, while all the time seeing Peter take everything away from him.

My heart broke for poor Harry in that scene. His world was shattered and all Peter could say was that there were bigger things than the two of them.
