so um yeah......
I've been stupid busy and stopped reading LJ and I have to say, I miss it!
Here's a quickie Reader's Digest version o our summer thus far:
*My Pops suffered several strokes in late June which really threw our family for a loop. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life as I was sitting in the ER with him and he couldn't tell me my name. His dictionary is still a little scrambled but he's working with a speech therapist and getting his verbal & memories back on track.
*We got to go to my god-daughter's 2nd birthday which was a riot. Luella is beautiful & amazing & incredible & HIGH-larious & looks fabulous covered in ranch dressing!!!
*We went to see Ani DiFranco at the Mountain Winery which was so great! I danced, I laughed, I cried, I bought a Tshirt! Plus I got to trump all the womyns in the bathroom line with the "When's the first time YOU saw her perform?" 1992......yea so I'm a femme-natzi from way back......damn I'm gettin old!
*My Pops & me flew out for a long weekend to Utah to visit with both his & my Mom's family. We'd planned the trip before his stroke but we went anyways and it was great to get some quality time with him. My cousin's babies ain't babies no more. All the fresh veggies & fruits outta my Aunt's gardens were great. It was really nice to hang with everybody.
*I've been working at my 2 jobs a LOT which is nice to have enough monies to pay my bills but it also means I haven't been out a lot BUT lots o peoples have been coming to our place so that's been really really nice. Which brings me to The TankBQ.....I'll post again about it when it's finished but for now you can see what Bustin & friends have been up to ALL summer here:
