A little girl, now 7 yrs. old, a lovely and sweet child, was restless in bed because Christmas was coming. Almost here really. She hoped Santa would bring the things she really wanted. So she changed into her nightgown, got into bed, tried to relax a little and sleep.
She thought of Santa and his reinedeer coming soon and was filled with happy thoughts, then drifted into a welcoming sleep. Before sleeping, she had heard family saying how much she was the image of her father, the daddy she hardly remembered; the daddy who was in Heaven now. He was tall, slim and handsome and loved her so much - they said so. Way back in her mind - the little girl thought she almost remembered him; he held her close to him very gently. She held him back tightly, remembering when she was very young holding onto his legs. She was only 2 yrs. old when her daddy (his name was Heath) went to Heaven. I wish he hadn't gone to Heaven so soon, and felt very sad.
Finally, sleep overcame her and she dreamed someone - maybe an angel - was talking to her and holding her very tight. "Matilda...Matilda, this is daddy". The man's voice was so calming and soothing and his embrace made her very happy. "I'm with you, sweetheart; I see you. I see and visit all those I truly loved and I love you best of all. Santa will bring you many gifts and you will have a wonderful day. I love and miss you more than anything, Tildy, and I'm going to visit you many times. You are so much like me. I love and miss you so much and I'm near you".
Matilda turned in bed and awakened. She had the most beautiful dream...of her daddy, she felt. She was very sad he was not here anymore. Then she turned her eyes up to Heaven and said very softly "Goodnight daddy. I love and miss you very much too. Please come back soon".
