(no subject)
Wow. LJ/DW has been quiet. My DW feed always is as I don't have a lot of people friended over there. I should fix that. But usually there's a a bunch on LJ.
I've kept meaning to post. I've been reading but it's been so, so hot. I've barely been functioning.
It was 44c on Friday and at 11pm it was still 39c. I'm so, so glad for our aircon. It wasn't anywhere near enough and I've spent the past few days on the edge of passing out but it's so much better than nothing.
Had the kids around on Friday so they could see their friends before they move to Melbourne. Jan and Helen took them to the water park but it didn't work so they came home and played in the sprinkler. Lots of screaming and running around. Then they were meant to leave but plans changed and Roger & Judi decided to go up to Hill End. The car stalled and so they had to stay here until Roger finished work and came to have a look at it. They decided it was fine and drove to Hill End. They lasted the night before heading home very early the next morning because it was way too hot. There's no aircon up there. We weren't allowed it.
My hands are still playing up but I fixed my splint by taping a spoon to it. I think they're a bit better. I did some drawing last night once it cooled down and they were buzzing but not too bad.
I signed up for the Cap Reverse Bang. It is the best. There's an artists chat room for encouragement and concrit and it's amazing. I've started 3 artworks that are all going to be part of one. Will see how I go. I talked about wanting to do some craft as an entry. I think embroidery would be the best bet. Most of the others like knitting and spinning don't translate well to story ideas and my hands and neck aren't up for needle felting these day. I may do something embroidered for my second piece if I have time. Got to finish the first first. Also haven't got any solid ideas for the second piece.
