Fic ideas
Sometimes I really wish I could write. Most often I don't get plot ideas at all. Just scenes. Which is what I draw really. I would love to be able to draw a comic but I've not got a lot of practice at it. It would take me so fucking long I think.
Anyway on twitter some of the comics people I follow were talking about a new comic coming out and calling it an 8-pager. I blinked. Did the term change meaning over time? Is it just what they're calling an 8 page comic now. I know about 8-pagers from my 1930-40s New York research. It was another name for Tijuana Bible. It's really crappy porn. Really crappy, very misogynistic and most of them are hideously racist and some are rather disturbing. I don't know why Donald Duck is in so many. Also a fair bit of dub or non con. Don't google them if these things are real squicks or triggers.
Anyway I wanted a fic where Steve makes extra money drawing them. Maybe Bucky sneaks a couple of comics home and then is like 'Oh Steve, you could draw them so much better than this' and Steve is like 'yeah right' but when winter hits and he loses his job again because he was off sick too often and money is tight and rent is due...
Maybe Steve Rogers draws the only 8-pagers that are hot instead of hilarious or disturbing.
I also want fic where people in the modern day treat Steve like he's some blushing virgin and by the time Bucky is around again Steve's just got used to it and ignores it but Bucky keeps pissing himself laughing. (Because when they had money they used to go dancing in the underground clubs in Harlem because that's where the music was best and there was sex and drugs and fairies and interracial couples and burlesque clubs were just as racy back then and they lived near the docks and it was impossible not to get an eye full at times of both straight and gay sex and then there's the stuff the two of them got up to together) The look on Tony's face when Bucky starts telling stories.
