I got behind on posting art to my Dreamwidth/LJ. I'm pretty sure I just posted the first two Steve pics on here but maybe I posted others and didn't tag them as art. Either way I decided to just post all I've done in one post.
I'm not done with this universe. I still want to draw Peggy, Nat and Sam at least. I'm still not sure these are punk enough to be called punk but I have fun with them and I really like mixing rockabilly with punk.
Series: (All Dressed Up Like A) Switchblade Knife
Fandom: Modern, Non-powered AU of MCU
Characters/Pairings: Pre Serum Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes
Rating: G - NC-17 (Everything but the last image is G rated)
Artist’s Notes: Pose very much inspired by
this awesome Supernatural cosplay. I’ve been wanting to draw fighty, bitey, righteous skinny Steve for a while. I know there are quite a few punk versions of the guys out there but I still couldn’t help trying my own. I have a few more art works to do in this series. I’ve got another Steve picture done and plans for a punk/rockabilly Bucky and a Peggy and Sam too. Oh and a couple picture of Steve and Bucky. I really wish I could write. Or draw story comics. I want to know more about these guys. Steve goes to protests and ends up in fights with counter protestors or just guys on the street who are shit to women or who use the word gay as an insult. He’s got a complicated relationship with pain.
I have the pencil sketch for this one and an alternate version that I ended up ditching because I wasn’t happy with the amount of detail I could get. I’ll post them later because the internet isn’t fast enough to upload multiple big pictures. I tried to fit in hints of his Cap uniform. I really want his boots though.
2nd Steve picture in this series. You can see his shield tattoo in this one and I added the wings from his helmet. The dog tags are his father’s. Bucky sometimes teases him about his big boots and big hair trying to make him seem taller but it must work because Bucky often forgets Steve’s not 10ft tall unless he’s curled up around broken ribs or something.
And finally here’s Bucky from Switchblade Knife series.
Because I didn’t have the bandwidth to upload a decent size picture for a couple of days I was able to notice and fix a few things. He no longer has clown shoes (the one on the left bumped right up at the toe) and he actually has thighs (his legs were waaaay too skinny) and he has eye make up. I always meant to give him eye make up. I like it and also in The Winter Soldier he has the grease paint thing. Anyway I am reasonably pleased with this. I wanted him in braces/suspenders and the singlet/vest/I don’t know what it’s called in the US he’s wearing is a tribute to Bucky in Man Out Of Time. His belt buckle is Sargent stripes. He mostly wears black, white, silver and shades of grey. Steve keeps buying him stuff in colours from Good Will but he wont wear most of it. He will wear the rainbow braces/suspenders to pride and he’s quite fond of the blue pea coat. He also has a leather jacket that I’ll get around to drawing at some point.
I wasn’t sure until I’d drawn this if I was going to colour his left arm silver but I like the tattoo being just the lines and the red star. The tat on the inside of his right arm is a fancy ‘S’. Steve has an ornate B tattooed on his chest, intertwined with the scar from his heart surgery.
Here’s the second Bucky picture from Switchblade Knife. The ear cuff is a silver dragon. Not sure if this goes big enough for you to see it properly. Anyone know how to get Tumblr to show decent sized artwork? A bunch of my recent stuff has really been shrunk down and clicking on it doesn’t make it any bigger.
Steve and Bucky together
Part 5 of Switchblade Knife.
Happy new year. Have some Switchblade Knife porn. Didn’t mean to draw this but it just happened. Skinny punk Steve and Bucky.
