I've seen the post about the new LJ friends page in beta.
I must say that if that actually goes ahead I'll not be able to use LJ any more. I guess I'll still cross post.
I can't read my friends pages on that though.
Here's some more info on it

My internet does not run fast enough for it. I can't do pages with lots of java script. They just don't work.
I can't do Infinite scrolling. It wont load. Half the time I have to refresh just to get LJ to load far enough that I can click next page. I can't load tumblr much at all. I get the Load More Pages thing and click on it and it times out. And if something goes wrong or my hand twitches and I close the tab (OMG the amount of times this happens >_<) then at least I will still be on the page of my friends list that I was on before but with infinite scrolling it just goes back to the start. It's usually when I totally give up on tumblr.
I can't read tiny text and while I can zoom in with CRT + I would have trouble reading that font.
I also can't deal with that much white screen. I just can't. It gives me migraines. I can't read black text when it's in a screen full of glow. I can hardly even see that there is font there.

These are not just mild irritations they will completely stop me being able to read my friends stuff. I don't know if I can get my friends journals fed to my dreamwidth where they actually care about things like accessibility and stuff or not. If I can then I'll still be able to keep up with people. I hope I can if this goes through.

Maybe enough people will complain and it wont happen.
I hope so. I don't want to lose touch with friends over it.

Also this is a great article about an idiotic headline the Telegraph ran with before covering their arses
http://abafflingordeal.com/2012/10/29/idiot-writes-headline-article/
Basically Alex Grenewich was elected as member for Sydney. He had to travel to Argentina to marry his boyfriend (because Australia is still backwards) and used to organise fundraisers to help gay lifesavers both of which were common knowledge before the election. And apparently that's something to shout about like it's a scandal.

livejournal, fuck off world
