(no subject)
Didn't manage to post last night as I had the Asus and it was really playing up. Turns out it needed a bunch of firmware updates.
I was grateful to get a chance to catch up with Ruth's family and spend a bit of time with Justin.
I was grateful that Ruth's mum is good enough to make sure that R's brother's dog is okay. They neglect it. He has a brace on his leg from a break and it has got really infected. Apparently they have taken him to the vet but he was dropped off here the other day so they could get ready for the party and they didn't mention that he's on antibiotics so he didn't get them for two days etc.
I was really grateful to get to catch up with Alisso. We saw her brother and his girlfriend too and the puppies which is always nice. And then stayed up way too late talking about fandom and how we can't understand the need to put other fandoms/ships/whatever down. I like what I like and don't expect everyone else to. Then we drove back here and slept for a long time.
They were getting Chinese takeaway so we were going to get gf noodles from this place at the Plaza. They usually good but they were terribly busy and were using the same tongs for wheat noodles as the rice ones and stuff and it wasn't worth the risk. We got stuff and cooked it at Alisso's.
Today I am grateful for my car and the fact that we own it outright and it is reliable, especially compared to others we've had.
I am grateful we had this day to go and look at mattresses
I am incredibly grateful that within 3 months we will have a new squishy, comfy mattress to sleep on!
I am grateful that I have had the use of both an iPad and an Asus tablet while staying here. It has been wonderful to play with them but also to have access to the net.
I am grateful for all the stuff we have been able to download while we have been here.
Today we went to look at mattresses. Domain were terribly expensive and most mattresses only came in queen or king. We need a double. We also spent way too long looking around Lincraft and there was so much awesome we wanted. Ended up coming away with three balls of yarn for Ruth to make a shawl out off.
Then we went to another bed place and they had 40% off and we tried a few and one was more comfortable than any others we'd tried in our price range. It was about $1400 and with the discount and stuff we got it for $850 plus $40 for a mattress protector. We decided to go with it as the sale ended today. We are laybying it so have three months to pay the remaining $700. Then Ruth's family will help us get it up to Hill End in the hilux.
Can't fucking wait.
This evening was nice spent with R's mum and brother talking about many things and watching the JKR Who Do You Think You Are.
No pics till I have a computer back.
