Fandom: Doctor Who
Characters: 11th Doctor
Rating: G
Media used: Photoshop, tablet
Warnings: It's a bit dark
A/N: Matt Smith has a really interesting face and I wanted to try drawing it.
It's a bit dark and textured but it's what I felt like playing with.

A new face )
I wanted to work with light. From that point of view I'm not completely happy with this. I need to work more on working out how dramatic lighting changes what we see of a face.
But from a character point of view I was reasonably happy with it.
I know with the end of last series the doctor could feel like he's paid off a few of his debts but I can't see that he's not still a bit broken.
Ohh I have so many theories about the new series but none of them are properly formed yet. (that crack!! and timey-wimey stuff)
I've finally managed to get all of the most recent episode so we're about to watch that.
I'm really enjoying the new series though. We needed a bit of a break from the huge dose of angst we got last year in both series.
I love Tenant but I was ready to let 10 go. The thing I was most worried about was the inside of the TARDIS. I think I could grow to love this version too. I'm glad there are still hints of the organic in there. I like to feel she's grown instead of made. I mean I know it's canon but I like to see it too.

I agree that it was time for Tennant to go -- even though I still miss him quite a bit! After I saw "The Eleventh Hour" I felt really happy that Doctor Who was a nice place again, but also rather sad for Ten. I also like the new TARDIS interior -- I loved the old one too, and I don't think that one is better than the other; they're both different and they're both awesome. :D
