So last game was good. I ran harder than I've run in ages. Lots of sprinting, chasing. I was complimented for playing the men outside when there was an attack, and for getting first to the ball once I'd figured out the timing.

Still, we got our asses kicked. 3-0. It was the subs that did it. The other team was subbing about every five minutes. We had two subs, and everyone got to go off... oh, once. It's easier to run around like crazy when you can run line changes.

But it was sort of like watching my old team, where the team played hard but couldn't keep up, and the goalie saved them from severe defeat. Only this time I wasn't the goalie. My Leo chafes at that - 'cause I think Jessie and I are about even, really. But oh well. One of these days, maybe I'll get to go in net. Hopefully in a way that won't completely screw her over due to injury or something.

I'm all dressed in the new, all-red kit (well, with white and black accents) and am waiting for Jamie. I called him - or rather, saw Devin was on Facebook and left her a comment asking her to get him to call me - last night at like 23:20 or so about a ride. Of course I'd completely forgotten to organise a ride during the evening, and only realised I needed one when I started thinking about packing up the car - which is still in Waterville.

This morning is the first game of the tournament. It's looking like there'll be fewer subs this game than next, so I'm glad I'm able to make it. Andrea wants to leave work early, so I've upgraded my shift to a full eight hours, and therefore am definitely, absolutely, positively missing the second game. Although I'm starting to think my knee could've handled it. For the first time, last Thursday, it didn't feel all wobbly and weird after the game.

Anyway. Soccer is going well, and I'm loving it. Even if it makes me miss shifts. And now I have my soccer schedule, so hopefully my hours will be worked more specifically around that in the future.

I need to finish my tea and get my bag prepped, and pull all the metal out of my face before the game. Thus ends the entry.
