Okay, so going to the gym today was awesome. The rest (i.e. not doing weight training or running every day) that occurred while Sarah was here must have done me at least some good. The quads are doing great, and even the hamstrings put up a might performance.
It was actually kind of funny. I went from the leg curl (hamstring) machine to the leg press (quad/glute) machine, and was stretching out my hamstrings, and then went to try and kick me heel up behind me, just to loosen things up, and it felt like moving lead. On the left leg, anyway.
The lump was behaving itself splendidly, so in the clinic I was able to do three full sets of lunges on the Bosu, as well as two full sets of squats, squatting down farther than I have been able to since surgery.
I've iced the right knee, and am going to let the pack sit on the left for a while, 'cause that poor leg is having trouble keeping up (except on the faster, 'explosive' power things).
I'm going to be going in for another strength test on Tuesday, just 'cause of the weirdness in the one measurement, and the technical difficulties when we tried to fix that last time. This test will be free-of-charge (i.e. I only have to pay for one, not both of these tests), and there will be an audience! Some random students that the AT e-mailed, and my roommate, Haley, 'cause I told her about it and she was interested. See? I don't even have to die in order to donate my body to science.
In other news, I went into work this morning to grab a coffee before heading to the Greek class, and received kudos for cleaning the milk fridge last night. *beam* I love that I'm appreciated.
Also, got paid yesterday! And made a lot more money than I was anticipating. So 50 cent/hour raises are lovely, and working nearly 60 hours over two weeks, while a pain in the ass, apparently pays off. Uh, literally.
So that is awesome.
Okay. So tired. Going to have tea, shower, and then get my ass down to... somewhere... and read Marcuse. I figure I'll save the thesis writing 'til tonight, 'cause, strangely, the section that I'm wanting to get done this weekend involves less brainpower than the critical theory readings. Something to be said for knowing the Roman constitution so well that you can just report o it without any major concern. Also, I'm going largely from secondary sources, so that helps.
All right. Hi ho, silver, away!
