That was close enough for me to come up with the tune... though not a title. However, a Google search for "song indian ay yay yai ya hai ya yai" led to a question on Yahoo Answers which led to the answer: it is "Return to Innocence" by Enigma (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk_sAHh9s08). So, did it remove the earworm?

Not quite. It removed it for a while - half a hour? And then it came back. Much, much quieter. I am greatly relieved. The doc says it shouldd resolve. A week? Two? But resolve.

It's not exaxtly the earworm, but more than close enough, to provide some relief. I mean, the earworm is toned down enough to let the tinnitus come to the fore!

Maddening not to be able to elucidate the meme to David. It was - here. Right here. And it had this shape and that color but like that helps him!. Then he finally came around with Name of Innocence and yes thank you jesus THAT one.
