can someone please tell me why new jazz sucks so bad? What happened? I don't even want to call it jazz because jazz music is/was one of the best contributions that the United States made to the world. But i just want to slam my head (or someone else's) into the wall when I hear this soft-porn-electric clarinet-white talentless-boring- inoffensive genre of music that people call modern jazz. its ear poison kids.
people say "oh, katey just give it a try- you'll like it"

really, there's something that old scientist Cass Leon Kass said is that we all have a 'wisdom of repugnance", meaning that if it makes you ill thinking about it, its probably not the best. Now Cass was an ass, but there's something to be said for modern jazz.
